Meet the tree
Chinese citron, traditionally known as Aurantiata, is an ornamental citrus with an especially rough rind and a deep orange colour at maturity. Its traditional name does not establish a certain Chinese origin.
The fruit can be substantial and elongated, with a pronounced tip and a thick white pith. The collection text values its peel for candying, preserves and thin slices in fresh preparations.

The tree has evergreen foliage and scented flowers, which can carry pink or violet tones. Spring is an important flowering period, with further blossom possible.
The consulted nursery reference gives autumn as the start of ripening. The length of the season depends on growing conditions.
